24/7 Canelo Khan debuts Saturday April 23rd.

HBO Sports’ groundbreaking “24/7” reality franchise, which has captured 18 Sports Emmy® Awards, will return for its 22nd multi-part boxing installment with 24/7 CANELO/KHAN, it was announced by Rick Bernstein, executive producer, HBO Sports. Debuting SATURDAY, APRIL 23 (12:15-12:45 a.m. ET/9:15-9:45 p.m. PT), immediately following the previously announced live “World Championship Boxing” doubleheader that begins at 10:00 p.m. (ET)/7:00 p.m. (PT), the behind-the-scenes series follows two elite fighters as they prepare for their middleweight mega-fight title showdown Saturday, May 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The series will also be available on HBO ON DEMAND, HBO NOW and HBO GO.

“This middleweight paring is an intriguing world-class event,” noted Bernstein. “We hope to paint a compelling portrait of the journey these two accomplished fighters are taking to the encounter.”

Episode two of 24/7 CANELO/KHAN debuts Saturday, April 30 (11:00-11:30 p.m. ET/PT), one week before the high-stakes bout.

24/7 CANELO/KHAN will provide exclusive behind-the-scenes access, along with in-depth interviews, as the fighters prepare for their collision in the ring. Canelo Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KOs), of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, is again holding camp in San Diego with renowned trainer Eddy Reynoso. The 25-year-old is red-hot after his impressive win last November over reigning middleweight titleholder Miguel Cotto.

Formidable 29-year-old Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs), from Bolton, Lancashire, UK, is training with 2011 BWAA Trainer of the Year Virgil Hunter in Oakland, Cal.

Marking Alvarez’s third “24/7” appearance and Khan’s first, 24/7 CANELO/KHAN is the latest installment of the acclaimed franchise that began in 2007. Among the most-honored sports series on TV over the past eight years, it was called “a masterfully entertaining reality show” by ESPN The Magazine.

“Canelo vs. Khan,” the inaugural boxing event at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, takes place Saturday, May 7 at 9:00 p.m. (ET)/6:00 p.m. (PT), and will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View®.
