Heavyweights, Chris Arreola (36-4, 31 KOs) and Fred Kassi (18-3, 10 KOs) fought to a ten round majority decision draw on Saturday afternoon in El Paso TX. Arreola came out and pressed the action at the bell but struggled throughout the fight. Kassi was able to tame Arreola and confuse the Riverside fighter while boxing and switching from orthodox to southpaw. Arreola’s inconsistent body attack kept him in the fight and even had him on top in the eyes of one judge who scored it 96-94. Kassi seemed to edge it out but when the deciding to judges turned in their cards it would be ruled a Draw with scores of 95-95.

“It was a good decision, it was just a tough fight” said Arreola “Fred Kassi came in here to fight, he’s a good survivor and I couldn’t find him in there.”

“ No, I’m not happy (with the decision). I feel like I won the fight. I won every round pretty much” said a disappointed Kassi “I showed tonight that I was the better fighter. I just wanted to show the world what I could do”
