Alejandro Luna stops veteran Daniel Attah after six!

Undefeated Alejandro Luna (15-0, 11 KOs) broke down veteran Daniel Attah (28-16-1, 11 KOs) with a brutal body attack and got the stoppage after six rounds on Saturday night at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena in Whittier California. Luna came out of the gate with a body attack to both sides of Attah’s mid section and never let up. Attah tried to keep the younger fighter at bay with a quick right jab but Luna walked through those shots and retaliated with pin-point combinations that had the Nigerian hunched over in pain throughout the fight. In the final seconds of the sixth round, two vicious body shots sent Attah to his corner in pain and moments later referee Jerry Cantu would call a halt to the action when Attah chose not to come out for round seven.

“I though my performance was great” Said Luna “Daniel Attah is a savvy and crafty veteran but I knew we would be able break him down and stop him.”

Super bantamweight prospect Roy “The Pit” Tapia (8-0-1, 3 KOs) scored a six round unanimos decision over a tough Sergio Najera (5-12-2, 1 KO). Tapia controlled the action for most of the fight and fired off big right hands as Najera laid back and tried to counter. After six rounds, all three judges would see it 60-54 for Tapia of East L.A.

Welterweight prospect Arnold Barboza (3-0) dominated Douglas Rosales (0-1) over four rounds to earn a wide unanimous decision. Barboza controlled the action from the opening bell and ripped off combinations to the head and body to earn scores of 40-36 all around.

South El Monte’s Myra Manzo (1-0, 1 KO) was successful in her pro-debut, scoring a first round KO over Edelma Jeffrey (0-1) who was also debuting. Manzo came out and dominated the action from the opening bell. The end would come after a barrage of punches left the referee no option but to step in and save the defenseless Jeffrey.

Lightweight Jose Garcia (3-6, 2 KOs) scored a four round unanimous decision over Alejandro Ochoa (3-4-1, 1 KO). Garcia floored Ochoa in the opening round but could not finish the job. In the end, judges would see it 38-36 twice and 39-35 all for Garcia.
