Gallery Artemio Reyes and Thompson Boxing go out with a bang!

It was the final show of 2014 for Southern California based promoter Thompson Boxing and their fighter Artemio Reyes (23-3, 18 KOs) decided that he’d send them out with a bang. Reyes, of Colton Ca. dominated and eventually stopped a very tough Christopher Degallado (10-4, 8 KOs) inside seven rounds on Friday night at the Double Tree Hotel in Ontario Ca. Reyes pressed the action from the opening bell and gave Degollado no room to breathe. Aside from an occasional over hand right from Degollado, it was all Reyes. As Degallado tired and slowed, Reyes picked up the pace. In the seventh, Reyes battered the Mexican fighter from corner to corner and forced Degallado’s corner to throw in the towel. Referee David Mendoza would call a halt to the action at 1:44 of the seventh at the corners request.

In the co-feature, Jr welterweight Jose Roman (18-1-1, 12 KOs) stopped Tijuana’s Jose Luis Ramirez (7-1-1, 4 KOs) inside of three rounds. Roman came out aggressive and dropped Ramirez in the second round with a body shot and finished the job in the third. A brutal right hand put Ramirez on the canvas where referee Zach Young counted him out.

Unbeaten super bantamweight Carlos Carlson (15-0, 9 KOs) dominated Miguel Tomayo (15-9-2, 13 KOs) en route to a wide unanimous decision. Tomayo had a good first round but beyond that, it was all Carlson. The Tijuana fighter pressed the action and cruised through the next six rounds. In the eighth however, Carlson went for the kill, unloading combinations while Tomayo fought off the attack. After six rounds, all three judges would have Carlson on top with scores of 60-54 twice and 59-55.

Super featherweight Erick Ituarte (9-1-1, 1 KO) scored a third rounds KO victory over Jesus Angulo (3-5, 2 KOs) in a bout scheduled for 3. Referee Zach Young stepped in and waved it at 2:30 of the third following a barrage of un answered punches.

Heavyweight Rodney Hernandez (3-1, 2 KOs) pulled himself off the canvas to score a close unanimous decision over Siala Siligoa (2-2, 2 KOs) of San Bernadino. A right hand in the opening round put Hernandez down but the fighter from Modesto rallied back and outworked Siligoa over the next three rounds. Scores were 38-37 all around.
