Chavez Jr. and Vera make weight, Salido loses title on the scale!

Today in San Antonio TX, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. tipped the scale at 167.5 lbs., avoiding the $250,000 fine set in place had he been over the contracted 168 lb. limit.

“I made the weight and I will win tomorrow” said a ready Chavez

His opponent Brian Vera also scaled in at 167.5 lbs.

“I’m glad he made the weight, now its a fair fight. I’m going to win again” said Vera

Their rematch will take place tomorrow night at the Alamodome in San Antonio TX. and televised on HBO.

In the co-featured bout of the night, two-time Olympic gold medalist Vasyl Lomanchenko will be fighting for a world title in just his second professional fight. He will be taking on former WBO featherweight champ Orlando Salido who lost his belt on the scale. Salido (128.25) scaled in 2.25 lbs over the featherweight limit and made no attempts to make the weight. In addition to giving up the title, he will also be fined $15,000. Lomanchenko (125.25) made weight and will be eligible to claim the title should he be victorious on Saturday night.
