Curtis Stevens: Gennady Golovkin is a hype job!
While hardcore fans and boxing insider rave about the undefeated WBA middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, there is one man that is not so impressed with the Kazakhstan fighter who boasts a 89% KO ratio in his 27 fight career.
28 year old Brooklyn fighter Curtis Stevens (25-3, 18 KOs) has racked up 4 big wins including 3 first round KO’s since returning to the ring following a loss to Jesse Brinkley in 2010 and will now get his chance to see, first hand what all the hype is about.
“Ain’t nobody scared of him, he’s over-rated and I’m going to go in there and demolish his ass” Stevens told The Ring “He’s a hype-job, who has he fought? He’s blowing up pounders. I give him credit, he’s on his job but don’t make him seem like some god when he’s not fighting anyone”
Stevens will have a chance to back those words up on November 2, 2013 when he challenges Golovkin for his WBA and IBO middleweight belts at the Madison Square Garden Theater in NY.
“I’m going to go in there and do what I do best, check in and check out. And bring that WBA back to Brooklyn” Stevens added “It’s not, can he fight. It’s can he take a shot and withstand this thunderstorm I’m going to give his ass”
