Unbeaten Jr. welterweight prospect Jose Ramirez (13-0, 10 KOs) scored a fifth round KO over veteran Robert Frankel (33-15, 6 KOs) on Saturday night at the Selland Arena in Fresno Ca. Ramirez dominated the action and controlled the pace from the opening bell and while he took a couple counter shots off the ropes, he was never in any real trouble. Ramirez also worked the body well throughout the fight so it was no surprise that the end would come at the end of a left hook shot to the body. Ramirez threw a right hand and followed up with a left hook that landed right on the button. Frankel hit the deck hunched over in pain and was not allowed to continue. Official time was 2: 44

Ramirez retains his NABF strap with the victory.

“I’ve got Mexican blood in me. I knew if I went to the body, I could finish him” -Jose ramirez
