Magdaleno Bros score early KO victories!

Lightweight contender Diego Magdaleno (25-1, 9 KOs stopped Jorge Pazos (14-7-1, 8 KOs) inside four rounds on Saturday night at the C. Robert Lee Center in Hawaiian Gardens California. Magdaleno sent Pazos to the canvas with a blazing four punch combination in round three and finished it in the fourth with a couple of well placed body shots. Referee Jack Reiss would wave it off at 2:27 with Pazos on the canvas.

Undefeated Jesse Magdaleno (18-0, 13 KOs) scored a fifth round KO over veteran Roberto Castaneda. Castaneda would hit the deck twice in round two but the end would come three rounds later in the fifth. A flurry, punctuated by an over-hand right left the Mexican unable to continue. Referee Jack Reiss waved it off at 2:08

Also on the undercard,

Brazilian Olympian Esquiva Falcoa (1-0, 1 KO ) won his pro-debut by stopping Joshua Robertson (5-4, 1 KO) in the fourth round of a scheduled six in the super middleweight division. A flurry of shots in round four prompted referee Jerry Cantu to step in and Halt the action at 2:36.

Undefeated super featherweight Saul Rodriguez (11-0-1, 8 KOs) destroyed his opponent Jose Iniguez (7-16, 1 KO) at the 45 second mark of the second round. Iniguez would hit the deck twice in the first round and in the second, a left hook to the chin put him down for good.

Featherweight prospect Pedro “Lil Pete” Duran (5-0, 3 KOs) won a unanimous decision over Erick Aguirre (2-3) after four rounds.

Featherweight Gary Salazar (1-0, 1 KO) knocked out Carlos Gonzalez (1-5, 0 KOs) in the opening round of a scheduled four. Salazar, a national amateur champion caught Gonzalez with a right hand that didn’t look like much but Gonzalez was unable to beat the count.

Unbeaten super featherweight Adam Fiel (2-0, 1 KO) scored a unanimous decision victory over Luis Pelayo who was making his pro-debut. Fiel got off to a quick start, landing a straight right that put Pelayo down for the count. Pelayo would survive the round and managed to work his way back into the fight. Fiel seemed to be the better boxer of the two but Pelayo’s awkwardness gave the Vacaville fighter just enough trouble to go the distance. After four one judge saw it a complete shut out with a score of 40-35 while the other two had it a bit closer with scores of 39-36 and 38-37.

Undefeated Sukhrab Shidaev (11-0, 7 KOs) earned a unanimous decision over a rugged Moises Alvizo (3-7-1, 0 KOs) after six rounds. Shidaev dominated the action and hurt Alvizo throughout the fight but could not finish the L.A fighter. Judges would have it 59-55, 59-55 and 60-54 all for Shidaev.
