Molina scores comeback KO!

Long time lightweight contender John Molina Jr. (26-3, 21 KOs) once again used his power to overcome an early deficit and score a stunning come-from-behind Knockout over previously unbeaten Mickey Bey (18-1, 9 KOs) on Friday night at the Hard Rock in Las vegas.

Going into the tenth and final round, Bey was well ahead on the cards, 90-81, 89-82 and 88-83. All he had to do was close the show.

Trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. told Bey “I don’t want you to do anything careless but turn it up around the body” just before the start of the tenth.

Bey did exactly that. He went to the body at the start of the round and hurt the Covina Ca. fighter with a brutal body assault. Bey unfortunately forgot one part of Mayweather’s parting instructions… Don’t get careless.

Half way through the round, a left hook stunned the Cleveland OH. fighter and after a hail of unanswered rights and lefts, referee Vic Drakulich stepped in a waived it off with Bey clearly hurt but on his feet. Official time was 2:10.
