In an all out war in the featherweight division, unbeaten Gabino Saenz (11-0-2, 8 KOs) and Pomona’s Edwin Solis (5-2-3, 3 KOs) fought to a six round draw. After two action packed rounds, a cut and bloodied Saenz ran face first into a right uppercut in the final minute of the third round. He was on shaky legs but managed to hang on and survive the round. Solis pursued as Saenz jabbed and used footwork to fight off the pressure. Saenz stood his ground and rallied back in the final round which may have saved him from his first loss. In the end, all three judges would see it differently with scores of 58-56 for Solis, 58-56 for Saenz and the deciding 57-57 draw.
