Undefeated WBO Junior Lightweight World Champion Adrien Broner (23-0, 19 KO’s) and NABO Junior Lightweight Champion Vicente Escobedo (26-3, 15 KOs) met on Wednesday in Cincinnati, Ohio to officially announce their July 21st world title fight at U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati which will be broadcast live on HBO Boxing After Dark.

“I’m going to take full advantage of this opportunity. I’m hungry and ready for good fight” Said Escobedo, 30 ” We know Adrien is fast, we know he has power, we know he’s talented but let’s not forget… I’m talented too, and I’m fast and I got power too. So we’re going to be ready. I’m going to shock the world.. Guaranteed”

“It’s just going to be another day in the ring for me” Said the 22 year old Broner “I know he’s coming to fight, he’s trying to come take what’s mine. Vicente is a good guy, a great talent, Olympian. He did some things that I was never able to accomplish and that’s a good thing but this is the pros so all that stuff is in the past. He has to come in and really beat me. He’s coming to my home town, this is where I lay my head at.

This is a business, I’m in the hurt business. This is nothing personal. I don’t want this whoop’n to be nothing personal. If you leave on a stretcher, on the floor or on your feet dizzy, whatever the consequences may be, this is a business.

I just want to say thank you for taking the fight.  A lot of people at 130 won’t fight me right now so this will be my last fight at 130.  I would like to fight a Gamboa or whoever will meet me but first we’re going to handle Escobedo”
