Gallery Danny Roman to face late replacement Marlon Olea and Official Weights

Danny Roman (20-2-1, 7 KOs) – currently ranked No. 5 by the WBA at 122 lbs. – will face Marlon Olea (12-0, 11 KOs) in Thompson Boxing Promotions’ “New Blood” main event Friday night from the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Calif.

Roman was originally scheduled to fight Victor Proa, but Proa could not obtain a visa in time and was consequently replaced by Colombia”s Olea. The fight is scheduled for 8-rounds.

At Thursday’s weigh in, Roman weighed in at 122 lbs., while Olea checked in at the same weight (122 lbs.).

Tickets for “New Blood” are available at general admission ($40) and ringside ($100). Fans may purchase tickets tomorrow (Friday) beginning at 5:30 PM local time from the will call booth at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Calif.

In the co-feature, Giovani Santillan (19-0, 10 KOs) weighed 142.4 lbs. and challenger Miguel Angel Mendoza (23-9, 22 KOs) checked in at 141.7 lbs.
