ESPN’s Friday Night Fights ended a 17 year run this Friday night at the Omega Products international in Corona Ca. In the main event, presented by Banner Promotions and Thompson Promotions, Heavyweight Andrey Fedosov (27-3, 22 KOs) scored an eighth round TKO over Donovan Dennis (14-2, 11 KOs) and picked up the 2015 Boxcino heavyweight strap. Fedosov got off to a slow start and seemed to have trouble finding his range in the first few rounds but scored a knockdown in the third. Dennis survived and tried to box his way back into the fight but in the seventh, he would hit the deck again. A third knockdown in the eighth had referee Tom Taylor stepping in to stop the action. Official time was 54 seconds of the eighth.

In the co-main event, super welterweight John Thompson (16-1, 5 KOs) pulled himself off the canvas to score a second round KO over Brandon Adams (16-1, 12 KOs) and claimed the 2015 super welterweight Boxcino title. Adams dropped Thompson in the opening round but couldn’t finish the job. Thompson returned the favor in the following round with a combination of shots that put Adams down for the count. A follow up flurry had referee David Mendoza stepping in and waving it off at 2:18.

Also on the card, super bantamweight prospect Isaac Zarate (10-1-1, 1 KO) edged out a six round unanimous decision over a tough Fernando Fuentes (5-4-1, 1 KO). Zarate controlled much of the fight but couldn’t close the show. Fuentes seemed to be the more active fighter down the stretch but after six, all three judges would agree with a score of 58-56

Lightweight Angel Martinez (5-1-1, 1 KO) stopped previously unbeaten Andres Figueroa (5-0, 3 KOs) inside five rounds of a scheduled six.

Super bantamweight Humberto Rubalcava (2-0, 2 KO) got a first round KO over Richard Tallmadge (0-1) who was making his pro debut.

Unbeaten Adam Lopez (11-0, 6 KOs) won a unanimous decision over veteran Miguel Tamayo (16-12-2, 14 KOs) after six rounds. Scores were 60-54 all around.

Welterweight Isaac Freeman (1-1, 1 KO) scored a TKO victory over Eridani Leon (2-1). Leon would hit the deck twice but the bout would be stopped due to a broken nose suffered by Leon.
