Isaac Zarate headlines the next “Locked N’ Loaded”

Isaac Zarate & LaRon Mitchell Hope to Extend Winning Streaks Next Friday on “Locked n’ Loaded”

Talented super bantamweight Isaac Zarate (12-1-1, 2 KOs) of San Pedro, Calif. stars in the “Locked n’ Loaded” main event next Friday, Oct. 23, from the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Calif. The 24-year-old Zarate faces Heriberto Delgado (11-3, 6 KOs) of Tijuana, Mex. in a fight scheduled for 8-rounds.

Zarate has settled into a nice groove as of late. He is ridding a five-fight winning streak and is coming off a fantastic fourth round knockout win against Jesus Serrano in July. The steely southpaw is looking for his fourth win on the year.

“I’m ready to give the fans an exciting fight,” Zarate said. “I’ve trained hard all year and I know I’ll be going home with the win.”

In the intriguing co-feature, undefeated heavyweight sensation and knockout kingpin LaRon Mitchell (9-0, 9 KOs) of San Francisco hopes to keep his KO winning streak alive when we meets the equally powerful Quincy Palmer (9-7, 9 KOs) of Little Rock, Ark. (6-rounds).

Tickets for “Locked n’ Loaded” are on sale and priced at $40, $60, & $100, and are available for purchase by calling 714-935-0900, or online at ThompsonBoxing.com.

As a prospect, Mitchell has quietly built one of the most impressive records in the heavyweight division. The Bay Area schoolteacher is up against an opponent in Palmer that knows how to dish out punishment.

“Palmer packs a mean punch, but so do I,” said Mitchell, who signed with Thompson Boxing last year. “I’ll stick to the fight plan and if I sense a knockout, I’ll go for it.”

In the special attraction, former world champion Jhonatan Romero (27-1, 14 KOs) marks his return to the U.S. after winning his last four fights in his native Colombia. Romero, or “Momo” as he is affectionately called, captured the IBF World Super Bantamweight Title two years ago, but would later lose the belt in his first title defense.

Romero faces an opponent to be named later (8-rounds).

“I’m excited to be fighting back in the states,” said the 28-year-old. “I’ve fought at the Doubletree before and it’s nice to be in a familiar environment.”

Additionally on “Locked n’ Loaded,” middleweight prospect Miguel Trejo (2-0, 2 KOs) of nearby Anaheim battles with Cesar Hernandez of Stockton, Calif. Hernandez will be making his professional debut against Trejo (4-rounds).

Opening the card is a pair of undefeated junior welterweights. Joseph Rios (1-0) of Hemet, Calif. and Jared Papazian (1-0, 1 KO) of West Hills, Calif. put their undefeated marks on the line in a bout scheduled for 4-rounds.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the first bell rings at 7:45 p.m. The Doubletree Hotel is located at 222 N. Vineyard Ave., Ontario, CA 91764 and can be reached at 909-937-0900.

“Locked n’ Loaded” is presented by Thompson Boxing Promotions and sponsored by Lucas Oil, in association with LATV Networks.
