Jose Roman Aims for Sixth Straight Win Friday Night at “Locked n’ Loaded”
Jose Roman (19-1-1, 13 KOs), a rising lightweight prospect out of Garden Grove, Calif., is two days away from his “Locked n’ Loaded” main event fight against Martin Cardona (18-4, 13 KOs) of Mexico. The 8-round fight is Roman’s first of the year, after winning four in 2014.
“I’m excited to get back in the ring and show the boxing world what I can do,” said the 27-year-old Roman. “I’ve won five fights in a row, and on Friday, it will be number six.”

The event takes place at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Calif.
Roman has been steadily working his way back into the lightweight mix after dropping a disputed split decision to Robert Osiobe two-and-a-half years ago in Las Vegas.
Since then, Roman is undefeated in his last five and knows bigger fights are ahead. But first, he must get through Cardona, who has knocked out his last two opponents.
“It’s going to be an explosive fight,” Roman said. “I’m going to be aggressive from the start and not wait for the fight to come to me. I’m going to bring it early.”

After “Locked n’ Loaded,” Thompson Boxing celebrates its Fifteenth Year Anniversary with a star-studded event on Friday, May 29, from the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Calif.
Leading the show is the fast-rising, undefeated junior welterweight stud Giovani Santillan. Also, all-action super bantamweights Efrain Esquivias, Juan Reyes, Danny Roman, and Jonathan Arellano, plus the veteran Chris Martin returns. A formal announcement will be released soon.
