Klimov Stalls Molina comeback!

After a stunning first round KO loss to Antonio Demarco last year, John Molina Jr. rallied back to score a fourth KO over Dannie Williams (22-2, 18 KOs) in January.

The Covina Ca. fighter was looking to get back into title contention this Friday as he took on undefeated Andrey Klimov (16-0, 8 KOs) on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights and hoped to get back into the mix with another big victory.

Molina, 30 got off to a slow start and was outworked by the Russian fighter  in the opening rounds. Molina picked up the pace in the middle rounds but never seemed to find his rhythm. Molina, who is known for his KO power seemed to be looking for that one punch as Klimov just kept on working. After 10 rounds of action one judge saw it even at 95-95 but was overruled by the deciding two who saw it 97-93 and 96-93 for Klimov.
