On Tuesday Golden Boy promotions held the official L.A press conference to promote “Knockout Kings”.

Headlining the September 15th fightcard from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and Live on SHOWTIME is WBC Jr. middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez taking on the newly crowned WBC Silver welterweight title holder Josesito Lopez of Riverside Ca.

Josesito Lopez (30-4, 18 KOs):

“I’m going to train My hardest. For june 23rd I trained really hard for the opportunity I had and on September 15th I have an even bigger opportunity against an even bigger fighter. All I have to do is train and give it my all and on September 15th, the better man will win.”

Saul “Canelo” Lopez (40-0, 29 KOs):

“I’m very happy with this fight. I think Josesito Lopez won his way, he earned his shot and September 15th is going to be a great fight. I’m not going to be over confident because inside that ring, there is no rival that is too small”

Oscar De La Hoya (Golden Boy Promotions):

In the co-feature Jhonny Gonzalez will take on Daniel Ponce De Leon in a 12 round featherweight clash for the Gonzalez’s WBC strap.

Daniel Ponce De Leon (43-4, 35 KOs):

“I’ve been waiting for a long time for an opportunity like this. I’ve been ranked number one in the world by numerous organizations and I’m going to take full advantage.I have a good rival in front of me in Jhonny Gonzalez. I’ve known him for a long time, we came up together and I know it’s going to be a great fight.”

Jhonny Gonzalez (52-7, 45 KOs):

“As a world champion, I want to face nothing but the best and I think Ponce De Leon is one of the best and that’s why he is getting this opportunity.”

Also on the card is hard hitting Marcos Maidana taking on Jesus Soto Karass.

Jesus Soto Karass (26-7, 17 KOs):

“Maidana is one of the greatest fighter in the division, that’s why I have to train hard because it’s going to be a war.

SHOWTIME Sports will produce a new edition of its ALL ACESS sports documentary series. ALL ACCESS: Canelo vs. Lopez will premiere on SHOWTIME with multiple replays on additional SHOWTIME and CBS platforms. The exhibition schedule also will be announced shortly.
