Kovalev vs. Ward already hitting snags | Promoter optimistic fight will happen!

Promoter Kathy Duva remains optimistic about the proposed November 19th match-up between her fighter Sergey Kovalev and unbeaten Andre Ward but admits negotiations have been “hell”.

So what’s the hold up? Apparently Ward’s promoter Roc Nation is backing away from verbal commitments to hold the HBO Pay-Per-View event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas which is also holding up ticket sales.

“It started last week when they let us know, after weeks of planning this press conference, that Andre Ward wouldn’t come. Then it continued through Saturday afternoon when they informed us, hours before we were supposed to announce that the fight was happening at the T-Mobile (arena), that they didn’t want to make that announcement.” said Duva “Maybe they’re trying to bully us into the Oracle (arena), maybe Andre is worried”
