Trainer Virgil Hunter on Khan vs Molina!

Former Jr. welterweight champion Amir “King” Khan left long time trainer Freddy Roach following two consecutive losses. In his most recent fight,  the fighter from Bolton UK was knocked down three times and eventually stopped in the fourth round by Danny Garcia.

Khan has now enlisted Andre Ward’s trainer Virgil Hunter to head the team as he prepares for a December 15th clash with up and coming prospect Carlos Molina of Norwalk Ca.

The two will meet at the L.A memorial Sports Arena in Los Angeles in a Jr. welterweight battle to be televised on Showtime.

Here is what the Bay Area trainer had to say during a press conference on Tuesday.

“We’re going on our fourth week together and I couldn’t ask for anything better, or for a better situation to be in.  Amir is easy to work with and easy to train.  He has an open mind and is easy to communicate with.” said Hunter “Everything has just been great so far.”
