Molina rebounds with a KO victory on FNF!

On ESPN’s Friday Night Fights, Lightweight contender John Molina (25-2, 20 KOs) returned with fourth round KO over Dannie Williams (22-3, 18 KOs) at the Indian School in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

A huge over hand right hit its mark right on the temple and down went Williams… and nearly through the ropes. Williams made it to his feet–outside the ring–just in time to see the referee wave it off at 2:16.

“It was a good fight that we needed to get back, Dannie Williams is a great competitor” said Molina “with my new trainer Robert Garcia, having me press the issue a little bit more, he wanted me to feel him out and I think we did so. We went on to land the right hand which is no secret I have power in my right hand and power in my left hand as well”

Molina was coming off a first round TKO loss to Antonio De Marco in September 2012.

“De Marco, that fight is in the past now and Dannie Williams is the future, I think he fought the wrong fight. I think he was very hesitant of my power and that’s why he was not pushing the envelope”

In the co-featured bout, Undefeated super middleweight Brandon Gonzales (17-0-1, 10 KOs) won a unanimous decision over Don Mouton (11-5-1, 9 KOs) after eight uneventful rounds. Scores were 78-75, 77-75, 77-75.
