Randy Caballero Defeats Kohei Oba in Japan!

In an IBF bantamweight eliminator, Randy “El Matador” Caballero (21-0, 13 KOs) defeated Kohei Oba (35-3-1, 14 KOs) in the 8th round at the Central Gym in Kobe, Japan. Caballero got off to a quick start, dropping Oba with a right hand in the final seconds of the opening round. From there, it was a fight. The two went toe-to-toe and traded vicious shots into the seventh round. In the eighth, Caballero who seemed to be getting the better of the exchanges once again sent Oba crashing to the canvas. Oba would beat the count but moments later a white towel from Oba’s corner would signal the end. Randy Caballero is now the mandatory for reigning champ Stuart Hall (16-2-2, 7 KOs) of the United Kingdom.
