Rios vs. Alvarado 3 is set for Jan. 2015

According to reports, the 1stBank Center in Bloomfield Colorodo will host “World War 3: Brandon Rios vs. Mike Alvarado” on January 24, 2015.

The two undefeated fighters first met in October 2012 at the Home Depot Center in Carson Ca. and after seven brutal rounds, Rios stopped Alvarado. Six months later the two put in another “fight-of-the-year” performance, in Las Vegas. This time around, fans would see Alvarado move a bit more and edge out a unanimous decision victory over Rios.

After splitting two with Rios, Alvarado took an L in his own backyard at the hands of Russian slugger Ruslan Provodnikov. Then came back to L.A and ended up on the wrong side of a slugfest with Mexican vet Juan Manuel Marquez.

Rios didn’t fair any better coming off the back-to-back wars, he found himself overmatched in a super fight with Filipino star Manny Pacquiao and lost in a landslide decision. From there, the Oxnard fighter brawled it our with Diego Chaves and was awarded a victory after Chaves was DQ’d for dirty tactics throughout the fight.

It’s said, the 12 round rematch will be televised by HBO with undercard TBA.
